Metallic Finish Custom Mesh Railing Panels

A specification driven panel: the size comes from the site, the finish comes from the design intent. The 25 x 25 mm square aperture with 2.5 mm wire gives a bold grid that stays legible at distance, and the metallic spray painting turns that grid into a warm screening element on a balcony or roof terrace.

Size range and how the quote is built

Width is quoted from 300 to 1800 mm and height from 500 to 3600 mm. Price is calculated per panel from the cut area plus the number of frame corners, so a tall narrow panel is not automatically more expensive than a wide short one. Panels above 1800 mm wide are split and joined on a mullion, which we detail on the shop drawing.

Two coat PVDF system

The finish is primer plus two PVDF coats at 70 to 90 micron, stoved at 230 degrees. Metallic pigments are the reason for the extra primer: without it the flake orientation goes patchy across a large panel. Panels are sprayed flat and cured flat, so the metallic sheen reads evenly across the whole surface rather than banding from top to bottom.

Frame details that survive installation

Frames are mitred, welded, then dressed before coating rather than after, so no bare metal is exposed at the corners. Fixing holes are drilled before coating and the hole edges are included in the spray pass; this avoids the common failure where a drilled hole becomes the first rust point on a coated panel.

Handling and site protection

Panels ship with a peel-off film on the visible face and a cardboard interlayer on the back. Film should be removed within 30 days of delivery and before the panel is exposed to direct sun, otherwise the adhesive can transfer to the coating.

Order Notes
